Stevenage was the first of the New Towns. Bedwell had its first people in 1952. Broadwater and Shephall followed in 1953 and Chells in the 1960s.
That puts a lot of the town's wiring at 60 to 70 years old. Many homes have too few sockets and a board with no safety switch. We are based in Great Ashby, so these streets are close by. We test first and only rewire what needs it.
Tested first
We find out what is safe before we suggest any work.
Room by room
Most people stay in the house while we work.
Honest about the mess
A rewire means chasing walls. We tell you up front what plastering will be needed after.
Your questions, answered
Does every New Town house need a full rewire?
No. Many have had a new board or part rewire already. We test it and tell you straight. Sometimes a new board and some repairs are enough.
Can we live in the house during the rewire?
Usually yes. We work room by room and get the power back on at night where we can.
