Baldock is straight up the A1(M) from us, so it is an easy run and we are there often. It is the oldest of the three North Hertfordshire towns and the centre shows it: Georgian fronts along the High Street and Whitehorse Street, timber behind them, and a lot of houses that have had wiring added to them piece by piece for eighty years.
