Poplars and Bandley Hill sit together on the eastern side of the town, between Shephall and Chells. The Poplars Bandley Hill Community Centre on Magpie Crescent is the middle of it and gives the two areas their shared name.

The housing is original New Town stock, so it throws up the same jobs as Bedwell and Broadwater: boards with rewireable fuses, not enough sockets and lighting circuits that were never designed to carry a run of downlights.
