Why does my fuse box keep tripping?
Usually one circuit with a fault on it, often a water leak into an outside light, a failing appliance or damp getting into a socket. Sometimes it is several small faults adding up. Testing finds it in an hour or two in most homes.
How much does fault finding cost?
We charge for the time it takes to find it. We tell you the rate before we come. Once it is found you get a separate fixed price for the repair, so you are never signing a blank cheque.
Half my sockets have gone dead. Is that dangerous?
It usually means a protective device has done its job, which is safer than the alternative. Do not keep resetting it. Leave it off and call us, because repeatedly resetting onto a live fault is what causes damage.
Can you fix it the same visit?
Very often, yes. We carry the common parts on the van. If something has to be ordered we make the installation safe and come back as soon as it lands.
