Your local electrician in St Nicholas

St Nicholas takes its name from the church that has stood on Rectory Lane since the twelfth century, the oldest building in Stevenage still in use. The church itself sits just over the modern boundary, but the name stuck to this whole side of town.

Weston Road runs up through it into Forster Country, the last green belt land in the borough, with Rooks Nest House at the far end. That was E. M. Forster's childhood home and the model for Howards End. It is Grade I listed and privately owned. It is also a good reminder that not every property up here is a 1960s semi. Some of them need a very different approach.

It is a few minutes from our base in Great Ashby, so it is one of the areas we get to quickest. Day to day the work is the usual Stevenage mix: fuse boxes, rewires, fault finding and lighting. The Pin Green Industrial Area sits at the eastern end, so we take commercial calls from here as well as domestic ones. Almond Hill Junior on Almonds Lane is just over the way and we are minutes from it.
