Kitchens, extensions, loft conversions and new builds wired from scratch

New Electrical Installations

An extension, a loft conversion or a garden room needs its own circuits. Getting that right at first fix saves a lot of grief later. We work alongside builders right across Hertfordshire on everything from a single room to the whole installation in a new build.

We set the job out with you and the builder before anything is wired, so sockets, switches and lights land where you actually want them. Cables run properly rather than the short way. Everything is tested and certified when it is done.

What's included

Set out before we wire

Positions marked up and agreed with you and the builder, so nothing ends up behind a wardrobe.

First fix to final test

Cables run, circuits built, accessories fitted and the whole installation tested at the end.

We work with your trades

Used to fitting in around builders, plasterers and kitchen fitters so the programme does not slip. We also recommend trusted trades that we regularly work with, so we can be your first point of contact.

Certified and notified

The right certificate for the job, with the Building Control notification handled for you.

New installations questions, answered

Do I need Building Control for new circuits?

New circuits in a home are notifiable work. We are NICEIC registered so we notify Building Control for you, and it is already covered by the price we agree.

When should an electrician get involved?

As early as you can. We specialise in electrical installations in any building or renovation work. Builders, plumbers, gardeners and other tradesmen or handymen cannot give you the trained electrical view, the technical ability or the certification, so it is always best to have a qualified electrician in your building plans from the very start. Time with the drawings before the walls go up is worth far more than moving a socket afterwards.

Can you wire a garden room or outbuilding?

Yes. A garden room usually needs its own supply run out from the house on a protected circuit, with its own small board at the far end. We size it around what you plan to run out there.

How much extra is it to add sockets while you are here?

Far less than having them done later, because the walls are already open. Tell us at the set-out stage and it goes into the one fixed price.
