Bedwell was the first New Town neighbourhood to be lived in, back in 1952, which makes it the oldest of the post-war estates and the one we get the most rewire calls from. Seventy-odd years is well past the working life of the original wiring.
It is also the most central neighbourhood. Bedwell Crescent and the community centre sit a short walk from Town Square, the Clock Tower and the Joyride sculpture, so plenty of our Bedwell work is flats and maisonettes as well as houses.
Typical jobs here: a fuse box with rewireable fuses swapped for a modern consumer unit, extra sockets in rooms that were built with two, plus full rewires done room by room so people can stay put while we work.
