Great Ashby is where we are based, so it is the shortest journey we make. The estate went up from the late 1990s onwards, which puts it in a completely different bracket to the rest of Stevenage. The wiring is modern and the fuse boxes are recent, so almost nothing here needs a rewire.
What Great Ashby does need is more of everything. Car chargers on driveways, sockets and lighting for a loft or a garden room, outdoor power, kitchen schemes when the original builder's spec starts to feel thin. We know the estate street by street, from Great Ashby Way out to the District Park.
One quirk worth knowing: part of Great Ashby sits in North Hertfordshire rather than Stevenage Borough, so Building Control paperwork can go to a different council. We handle the notification either way, so it never becomes your problem.
