Symonds Green sits on the western edge of the town with the A1(M) just beyond it. It is more self-contained than most of Stevenage, with its own shopping centre, schools and pubs.
It also has something none of the New Town neighbourhoods have: a conservation area, with Grade II listed buildings going back to the late sixteenth century. Working on a building that old is a different job to working on a 1960s semi. We treat it that way.
